Are you a driven leader with a passion for operations, logistics, and team development? We are a household and commercial moving and relocation company, Agent for United Vanlines, seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee daily operations, drive business growth, and deliver exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Operations Management: Oversee dispatch, scheduling, and routing of all residential and commercial moves; ensure crews, trucks, and equipment are properly assigned and utilized
Crew Leadership & Staffing: Hire, train, schedule, and supervise movers, drivers, and office staff; conduct performance reviews and enforce accountability standards
Fleet & Equipment Oversight: Manage maintenance schedules for trucks and moving equipment; coordinate repairs and ensure DOT compliance and safety readiness
Customer Experience Management: Monitor bookings from initial inquiry through job completion; handle escalated customer concerns, claims, and damage reports professionally
Sales & Estimating Oversight: Review estimates for accuracy and profitability; assist with large or complex move quotes; ensure proper pricing, upselling, and contract compliance
Financial Performance: Track daily and weekly revenue, payroll, and operating costs; manage budgets; identify opportunities to improve margins and reduce waste
Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations (including licensing, insurance, and safety standards); lead regular safety meetings and training
Process Improvement: Implement and refine SOPs for packing, loading, transportation, and delivery; improve efficiency, reduce damages, and increase on-time performance
Vendor & Inventory Management: Maintain relationships with suppliers; oversee inventory of packing materials and supplies to prevent shortages or overstock
Reporting & KPIs: Analyze performance metrics such as job completion times, damage claims, customer satisfaction scores, and revenue per move; report to ownership regularly
Qualifications:
Proven experience in operations or general management (moving/logistics industry preferred)
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
Financial acumen and experience managing budgets
Outstanding communication and customer service skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
